Act of Kindness

Today’s story of kindness was submitted by InspireMore reader Dana M.:

“My husband and I were on the road many years ago when my oldest son was just a baby. We were so broke that we didn’t have money for diapers, formula, or gas to make it to the next town.

My husband noticed a farmhouse that had a gas pump. He worked up the courage to ask for any work that they needed done in exchange for a full tank of gas. This older couple was getting ready for church. The woman invited us in and asked me to keep an eye on the roast while they were gone.

When they returned they invited us to stay for a little while. I was so happy to have a warm bed and food to eat. In return my husband helped feed their goats and other farm animals. When it was time for us to leave, they filled our gas tank and gave us enough money to make it a little further down the road. I will never forget their kindness and willingness to take in a couple of strangers who might have taken advantage of their kindness. I have repaid their kindness every time I able to.“
