A little girl named Abby is making headlines for her generosity, which is rippling farther than she could have imagined!

A few weeks ago, the Kent County Animal Shelter received a donation in the mail along with a note from Abby:

“Dear Kent County Animal Shelter, I had a lemonade stand and earned $80 plus some change, and my parents matched it. So over $160 dollars are going to the animals. Maybe you can buy a toy or something for them. Sincerely, Abby”

How sweet is that? But the generosity didn’t end there. After thanking Abby in a Facebook post, the shelter was flooded with more donations from the community!

“We received quite a large Amazon shipment today with notes stating it was a forward of kindness inspired by Abby raising money for KCAS at a lemonade stand, which her parents had matched,” the shelter wrote on social media last week.

“Since the post was shared many times over and by various outlets, we have received over $3000 by people matching and generously giving, all inspired by one little girl and her family‼️🥳❤️”

Just one kind act can spark countless more — little Abby knows firsthand. We have a feeling this is just the beginning of this sweet girl’s philanthropic work. Imagine the impact she’ll make a few years down the road!
