Hotels We Love: Hotel Nikko

The only Okura Hotels property in the continental U.S., Hotel Nikko offers guests an upscale, refined experience typical of larger high-end hotel chains, with a playful sensibility that’s unique to San Francisco. Perhaps most notably, they have a few canine mascots that make appearances all over the hotel in books and stuffed animals, although the real ones spend most of their time in the office. An onsite Japanese restaurant pays homage to the hotel’s origins as well as the city’s strong east Asian roots. While all of the rooms are spacious, we highly recommend travelers who appreciate luxury opt for the beauteous Executive Suite, which features a walk-in closet and massive marble bathroom.
