“When my mother died, she willed me her diamond ring. I was one of three daughters, so it was extremely special that she did this. As it turns out, I accidentally threw it out with some papers from my desk down a garbage chute for 320 apartments, my husband and I went down to the street to see if the garbage was put out yet. It was.

Four days of compacted garbage for 320 apartments. He called his office for help and asked that a truck come to the sidewalk at 6 AM and take all the compacted garbage bags to his office parking lot. He got a team of 10 people to help me sort through the garbage. After three hours we miraculously found the ring. All his friends said he should’ve just bought me another ring. He said you don’t get it. She was extremely close to her mother and this was a very very special gift. What I had was a very, very special husband. Unfortunately he passed.”
