Today, we’d like to introduce you to someone special. Meet “the world’s happiest criminal.” At least, that’s what she’s known as online!

Years ago, photos of the then 99-year-old Annie grinning and wearing handcuffs went viral online. You see, the adorable grandma had always dreamed of being arrested, so Dutch police helped her fulfill her bucket list wish!

“This morning we were able to give Annie a very nice day by fulfilling one of her last wishes,” Nijmegen Police wrote in a Facebook post. "She wanted to experience a police cell from the inside one day.”

“Because citizens are not allowed to just enter the cell complex, colleague Maarten arranged during his break that Annie (as a very special exception) could sit in a holding room for a short while, handcuffed of course.”

Annie’s gleeful expressions are too cute for words! We’re so happy her dream of becoming a “hardened criminal” came true. 😄
