Good morning! People are not happy about Southwest Airlines’ new checked bags policy, which no longer offers free checked bags to most passengers.

Needless to say, people are voicing their displeasure, and other companies are backing them up, including Aldi! The clever way they address Southwest's unpopular change has us surprised in the best way. 😆 (See here.)

Act of Kindness

Today’s story of kindness was submitted by InspireMore reader Maritta T.:

“My husband was diagnosed with mesothelioma and within 6 months he was close to dying. So in early March many of our church members came to our house on a Saturday, cleaned the inside of the house, and did awesome yard work, mowing, and trimming trees, and dragging away dead branches. At the same time, no one left my husband alone in the living room (by then he was in a hospital bed there, not able to talk). They talked to him, held his hand, and he was able to understand, nod and respond by squeezing their hand.

After they left, a few hours later, holding my hand, he died. What a blessing for so many spending time with him, and letting him know I would be cared for. Knowing he was so surrounded with loving care on his last day is such a great blessing of kindness and love.”

What a beautiful way to show up for neighbors in their greatest time of need. We’re so sorry for your loss, Maritta, but we’re glad you didn’t have to face it alone.
